Local Author: Rocky Callen
Author of A Breath Too Late, author of the forthcoming novel Crashing Into You and and co-editor of the anthology Ab(solutely) Normal
Award winning author, Annette Curtis Klause, explains,
“Larry Callen wasn’t only an accomplished writer of compassionate yet whimsically funny books for children, he was also an insightful and patient writing teacher who nurtured many aspiring authors of children’s books in the Washington D.C. area. A statue of him reading about Pinch, a thoughtful country boy, pursuing small town adventures in the early 20th century, would not only evoke American history and timeless childhood, but represent the handing on of knowledge and heritage to a new generation.”
