Magnolias And Memories
Watercolor Limited Print
Title: Memories and Magnolias
Name of Artist: Tiffany Carmouche
Medium: Print of Watercolor Painting
Dimensions: 24 x 36 (Various sizes available)
Description
This watercolor painting is inspired by the work of my mother, Willa Jean Carmouche Callen, an incredible artist. Among her beautiful artwork, she painted amazing magnolias; some I am privileged to decorate the walls of my home.
On her birthday, a few years after her passing I began this painting using her artwork for inspiration in her memory. The hummingbird, and the butterfly, are a reminder she is still with me.
This painting is a symbol of sacred moments and all the loved ones who will not be forgotten.
Carefree childhood trips to New Orleans and sipping southern sweet tea under the majestic magnolia tree bring a smile to my face. Memories of loved ones and the joy they brought to my life. Cherished moments, the forget me nots symbolize memories that have etched themselves in the fabric of time.
This flower symbolizes dignity spirituality and peace. The magnolia tree is very strong and as a woman who has dusted herself off and got up each time she was knocked down, strength is important to me. The flower’s meaning symbolizes virtues I yearn to embody: nobility, perseverance and love of nature. The flower represents the beauty encompassing femininity and is a reminder we are each a masterpiece.
Fossils date back 20 million years showing that the flower has been gracing the earth since the beginning of time symbolizing legacy.
The Awakening
Watercolor Limited Print
Title: Awakening
Name of Artist: Tiffany Carmouche
Dimensions: 24 x 36 (Other sizes available)
Medium: Print of Painting made of Ashes and Watercolor
Inspired Poem: Our Deepest Fear Maya Angelo
Description:
To create this piece, I burned the word invisible as if I was releasing the pain of feeling unworthy from the world and I used the ashes of the word invisible in the painting.
In the midst of the grief, because of the loss of dear loved ones, I allowed myself to disappear. I did not recognize the woman that looked back at me in the mirror. The Awakening was born after I realized that in their honor, I had to show up in the world. The vibrance in the watercolor represents finally realizing the brilliance I held within. It represents the moment a woman is ready to reveal herself to the world unapologetically. It represents the moment she finally is ready to embrace the beauty she holds inside. We often hide ourselves, afraid to share our true colors, but it is when we honor our gifts, our scars, and shed our limiting beliefs, we awaken our divine light.

Description:
Sculpting my granddaughter, I reflected on the words of Kahlil Gibran, “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth into the world.” This has been my mantra. Being a mother, grandmother, and mentoring youth is part of my identity. I have lead outreach worldwide for over a decade and feel as a community we have a responsibility to give them wings so they may soar and the courage to be a beacon in the world. Listen to their wonder, listen to their bliss, and remember, they can teach us as well.
Family Love
Acrylic Limited Print
Title: Family 2020
Name of Artist: Tiffany Carmouche
Medium: Print of Acrylic Painting
Dimensions: Various sizes available
Year: 2020
Description:
I painted this painting during the pandemic. Many families were separated due to lock downs and quarantines. Mine included. Orcas are a sign and symbol of family and protection. We all need protection during uncertain times, and I felt the symbol of the Orca shared the importance of letting separated family members know they are loved even when they are not together. 2020 brought about many disruptions and the Orca symbolism asks you to get in touch with your inner self through meditation and soul-searching. Orca’s black and white coloring lends symbolism, both colors have ties to Yin and Yang forces of Feminine and Masculine Divine Energies to help us center ourselves as we draw inward to reflect on what truly matters.
Eggshells
Limited print of sculpture
Title: Eggshells
Name of Sculptor: Tiffany Carmouche
Photographer: Bert Pasquale
Medium: Photograph of sculpture. Clay and Eggshells
Dimensions: 24 x 36
Song Reflection: Scars To Your Beautiful by Alessia Cara and Warrior by Demi Lovato
Description:
As a woman who escaped from domestic violence, I often felt as if I was walking on eggshells, but it was my secret, I had to hold myself together no matter what pain I faced behind closed doors.
This sculpture, created in clay and eggshells, represents the reality of many women who are trapped in an abusive relationship. I used actual eggshells in the foundation to demonstrate the sensation. Although her foundation is crumbling and she feels like she is walking on eggshells, she needs to portray to the world that she is okay. She needs to find the strength to endure.
More than 12 million men and women every year are victims of rape, physical violence or stalking by an intimate partner in the United States, according to the National Domestic Violence Hotline.
As an artist, I am here to tell you there is life after abuse.
There are dreams after nightmares.
There is a rainbow after the storm.
We have within us the potential we never imagined.
Gentle HEart
Acrylic Limited Print
Title: Gentle Heart
Name of Artist: Tiffany Carmouche
Medium: Print of Acrylic Painting
Dimensions 14x19
Year 2020
Description:
As I painted Gentle Heart I reflected on new beginnings as we said goodbye to 2020. The original was commissioned for an incredible woman who was getting ready to retire. Many years ago, I sought out for a new beginning of my own, leaving Washington DC and traveling to Alaska. I remember vividly sitting on the train, a little nervous, staring out the window at the wonder outside. In awe I gazed at Birch trees reaching for the heavens for as far as my eye could see. I sighed. As the train brought me to the unknown, the trees comforted me in serenity.
I loved the symbol of the birch trees as a backdrop for Gentle Heart, named for my client’s beautiful appreciation of the deer that would sometimes came to visit her. The birch, a pioneer species, is a symbol of rebirth, new beginnings, and growth. In the mythology of the Celts, it is a sacred tree and is thought to have very protective influences. The elegant tree looks sophisticated and graceful yet has the strength to grow where nothing else can. This fascinates me. And I love how it holds connections with feminine energies. In Celtic Lore is known as ‘The Lady of the Woods’.
When I was told how she would look out the window and sigh, “gentle heart,” each time she saw a dear, I wanted to create something that captured the essence of that experience. I love the idea that a deer sighting can be a reminder to keep your heart open, lead a gentle life, and always allow your creativity and curiosity to be a part of you. I painted this painting as a gentle reminder to cherish the new beginnings that await us each day.
